August 18, 2026From Evin for “Woman, Life, Freedom”: An Exhibition of Handcrafted Works by Women Political Prisoners in Evin Opens in Bonn, Germany
Handcrafted creations by women political prisoners in Evin have traveled from behind prison bars to the Women’s Museum in Bonn, Germany. These works narrate the struggle to live, maintain a connection with the outside world, and amplify the voices of political prisoners to society.
The exhibition, titled “From Evin for ‘Woman, Life, Freedom'” and curated from the collection of the Iran Women’s Movement Museum, coincides with the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Bonn Women’s Museum.
For some imprisoned women, crafting these items serves as a means of livelihood, while for many others, it is a way to preserve their bond with the outside world and convey their messages to society.
The exhibition will run until November 25, 2026—the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women—at the Women’s Museum in Bonn.
